ERROR-PROOF TECHNOLOGY
RPG Marking Systems were originally developed to pick-up where other manufacturers left off. The Error-Proof Technology that arose, stemmed directly from the fully automated marking systems that we were providing. We wanted to error-proof our equipment, allowing process and manufacturing engineers to know that the characters were being marked, accurately, and reliably. In order to reach this level of process feedback, we developed technology to ensure that each and every impact is verified, analyzed, and recorded. The results of each mark are displayed on the screen along with its corresponding rotation number providing a visual verification of the quality of the mark. Color-coordinated dots visually display what is happening in the process, green dots signify that the dot was placed in the correct position with sufficient inertia to make a well-formed dot. A red dot signifies that there was no contact with the part for that particular dot, and yellow dots signify that the part was contacted, but it may not have been with sufficient inertia to leave an acceptable mark. If yellow dots are occurring regularly, it is an indication that the pins are slowing down slightly and it is time to clean the cartridge assembly before the integrity of the mark is jeopardized. If there are unsatisfactory cycles the system has the ability to notify operators or supervisors with audible signals or via e-mail.
There are essentially three layers to our Patented Error-Proof Technology.
